From one snack to another...

How to Handle Grocery Shopping This Week

The grocery store is one of the places that we equally want to spend as much and as little of our time there as possible. Every time is a battle between what we get and what we actually went for. I'll be starting a support club for those of us that went to the grocery store and came back only with snacks. No actual meats or starches in sight.

It's not just the grocery store either, its meal time over all. The whole process feels really overbearing for something that we have to do every day or we die. Approaching food from a healthy mindset is a windy road. I whole heartedly believe though, that the journey with food is supposed to be fun! Even if it's not fun every day, it's not something to drag our feet about. Let me explain:

This is When You Grab a Snack

It is always time for snacks, right now even. Do you tend to be a salty snack or a sweet snack type of person? Reply to this email and let me know!

Something that's always stuck with me is telling a friend of mine how I have an unrelenting sweet tooth. She immediately followed up with "ah, that makes sense! they say that people who have a big sweet tooth is because they have a sweet personality!"

Ever since then, I feel a lot less guilty for enjoying dessert supremacy! Snacking isn't gonna be one size fits all. There's no wrong way to do it and there's nothing wrong with your snacking habits I promise! I even made you a thread!

The DIY snacks

I've lost count of the times I've reached for the easiest snack instead of the snack I actually wanted! Which quickly prompted me to whipping up something that sounds like it taste good without actually knowing. Admittedly, I've had more failures than successes.

My solution actually landed me somewhere in the middle. I've been looking up snack recipes! Particularly leaning towards being a dip girl. Why, you ask? Because it's approachable and tend not to be very ingredient heavy.

The kitchen is slowly becoming somewhere I enjoy being as opposed to a quick pit stop. Who is she?? I can't cook, yet. Your kitchen can be a really special place. Reply to this email if you've been giving it some good thought. I have an idea I've been guilty about putting off here that I'm sure will make a world of difference. If you know, you know!

I promise this isn't an anti-quick snack rant! In fact, I love quick snacks! Ever want to lean into embracing the unknown? Well, this is our quick harmless step. We don't have to jump right back into quarantine baking just yet, friends.

The Seasonal Snack

This summer, without a doubt I've been enjoying the hell out of some summer fruits. You can believe my shock when I actually realized the price difference between in season and out of season fruit! Are we dabbling into being a seasonal snacker? We could always approach it with a little research. Fruit in the summer, veg in the winter? Remember there is no rules! Nobody can say what are snacking seasons are gonna shape up like! We are officially in our snacking era!

What I've been doing:

I had some delicious pork this weekend and it 1000% taste better knowing that I managed to serve myself the perfect amount! Plus a little extra nibbling from hubby's plate.

Food is something I completely convinced myself that there was only one right way. Now I'm always tweaking and pondering. Different meals warrant different approaches. I'm giving myself grace freely when it comes to each meal time being different.
