sincerely, you - #2

entering your villain era, is top tier self care. im happy to repeat it for the people in the back.

Celebrating Yourself:

Here you are! Now years into a pandemic. Still in one piece, taking the day at stride. Even if you don't know what happens if things were "better". You're moving through your day, with a little too much focus on the weekend but moving along none the less. You know how hard you worked today? I'm proud of you.

Every day you are a celebration! Celebration is your first sip of your first cup of coffee (or tea!). It's that unmatched morning stretch. No matter how inconsiquencial it seems, it's a work of art!

The best part being, it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else.

Yes, it counts!

Got out of bed this morning? It counts!

Made sure you drank a mug of water? It counts!

Brushed your teeth? It counts!

Sunscreen? Bonus points!!!

What really trips people up when starting to bring their focus to their own self care is feeling like it has to happen all at once. All or nothing. The simple truth about self care is: not a single part of it happens on autopilot.

You must build your self care muscles, in that, sometimes they will be sore. Account for that and make space for that every day.

Eating the Frog:

What do you really not want to do at all today? Start with that. Even if it means the toughest thing you do all day is get out of bed and brush your teeth. The concept of Eating the Frog means you start where you're facing the most resistance. Then, in comparison, the rest of the day is like a cake walk!

Give yourself that first win in the morning! It goes a long way for setting up your day for success. It also has the bonus added effect of building your self esteem through trusting yourself to pull through!

You got this!!

You Are the Main Character:

Top tier. Creme de la Creme! This is your show and we're all here to watch on the side lines. Side characters that wash in and out or are a part of the permanent cast. As people we're in a unique position in that we direct and feature in our lives. The weight of responsibility is heavy on those who've never flexed it before!

Give yourself some grace and find a way to kick ass today!!

Got me thinking:

Kindness and compassion with others has always been a huge moral code we stand by. We're told that it marks a good person from a bad one. If we follow that logic it goes to prove that the way we show kindness and compassion to others we must show to ourselves.

aht aht.

Not so fast, just like we hold people we love accountable and celebrate every small milestone so they know they are valuable we need to do the same for ourselves. That means getting up to do the dishes. Putting the meat down from the freezer to defrost, and cleaning your bathroom.

Truly love to see it:
