Sacred Shower Time
There's a reason you get your best ideas in the shower. The least amount of distractions plus the focus on self. A recipe for feeling like a brand new woman, every time you step out. I whole heartedly believe a good shower or bath will help calm any uncomfortable feeling. Especially if you don't know why you're feeling it. Indulge in blocking everything else out. Even if its only for 20 minutes, or less.
A Grown Up's Bubble Bath
Submerging your body almost completely in water has spiritual properties. Finding time for a bubble bath has always paid off. The whole process is one of slowing down. Unwinding the day. Setting up the bubble bath is half the beauty of it. The whole experience comes together gently.
How Water Heals You
Water is underrated when it comes to how much it heals. It puts you back in your body. Feeling the cold water right before hopping out of the shower. But mostly, taking in the steam and sinking into a warm bath. When I first played around with taking a bubble bath. I couldn't help laughing at myself, making fun. A grown woman taking a bubble bath. The relation in my brain being with childhood and toys. Everything changed once I got myself to relax. The only noise being the consistent filling of the tub. Once the tub is full, you're surrounded by silence. The kind that wraps you in a hug and lets you be.
Embracing More Than a Shower
There's an every day shower, and there's a bubble bath. Of course, you serve the function of cleaning your body every day. But, what about the treat? Have you indulged in that shower? Going all out. Putting on a good playlist! Lock out the rest of the world because this time is yours too. You can bring the essence of the bubble bath to the sacred shower (that shower)
From Hair Care to Hair Ritual
I had the most anxiety leave me during the first time I massaged my scalp for a few minutes. Head upside down, letting my hair do what it will. The first step in hair care is letting the hair find a place to settle before the reset. I made it a point for my first beauty priority in this last quarter is my hair. Birthday gifts, and spare change going towards building a routine I could stick to. After all, who could have a bad day with a good hair day? Usually a moot point.
A Good Hair Care Routine
Treat yourself to a good leave in conditioner and a scalp massage while you shampoo. It's never stopped impressing me how my hair knows. She gives me what I give her. Like your skin, a solid routine will reward you. A good hair day starts the day right. It gives me the energy to get through a bad day.
Hair Time is Me Time
Hair is a solitary experience, it's another chance for me time! My hair wash days could easily last me hours. Your hair rewards you when you don't rush. The most rewarding part of taking your time on wash day? Is that you save stress later through the week.
Shaving, Waxing, and How to Feel About Hair Removal
The amount of hair you remove or keep is personal. You're beautiful regardless. Anything that brings you stress is worth letting go. Some days, hair could bother you less or more. I've gone without shaving my legs most of a summer. I've also had times of daily shaves. One of the best feelings is still fresh sheets and shaved legs. I will never miss any opportunity to rub my smooth legs on my husband. Hair removal is only the norm because the world told you so. Explore your feelings about how it really makes you feel. I promise, you're not weird because your body hair doesn't bother you. There was a time when shaving my arms was something I battled with. Before finally deciding that this hair I love. I love how it keeps me warm. I won't shave it just to make someone else comfortable.
Body Hair Insecurities
Try to remember which insecurities have been given to you. Body hair is completely normal and beautiful. It keeps you warm and it gives you beautiful skin by beading off sweat. Some hair is going to be more coarse or thin. Body hair isn't has consistent as the hair on your head. It has more personality. Relationships with body hair happen behind closed doors. It's uncomfortable because the immediate reaction is what if someone else saw you. Nothing. That's what happens if someone else saw you. Their ideas have no place in forming your opinions of your own beauty.
Body Hair Has No Morality
Here's your reminder that body hair isn't a morality issue. It's a graduation of your self image. Body hair is something you have to address. It doesn't go away on its own. Please, regardless of your conclusion. Approach body hair from a place of love and grace. It's only there to protect you. Those body hair genes have protected you since before it was reviled.
