For the Love of Hydration

Yes, drink more water! Among other things...

Drinking Enough Water Every Day

I can say this in the most loving way possible. But, dear readers, you need to drink more water!! I promise there is only a small risk of drowning yourself. In all seriousness there is so much benefits to the body when drinking enough water. A personal favorite being all the pee breaks. Because when you’re busy going to the bathroom, there’s no time for drama.

Do you have any current water goals? If not! Let’s start you at 16oz a day, I know you can do it! Reply to this email for a water goal support message 💌.

Cue the Emotional Support Water Bottle

Getting myself an emotional support water bottle really changed me. Not a little 16oz or 24oz. A whole 32oz bottle I try to fill twice a day. And emotional support is exactly what it sounds like. I take my bottle with me to almost every room in the house. I go out of my way to make it convenient to drink more water.

I’m personally a fan of the ones that mark the number of ounces straight on the bottle so I could see the number of ounces of water I’ve already drank. It’s more motivating than you’d think!

The Latest Emotional Support Water Bottle Hype:

The Solution to Boring Water

A good place to start if the lack of taste is the issue, is fruits. Adding fruits to water has double benefits. Tastes like your favorite fruit and passes along some of those great benefits from the fruit itself! A win win! A good price to pay for having to change up the fruit so you don’t get bored with it.

For infusion waters, it’s best to remove the fruit once infused. Or have a pitcher to incorporate different things without having to eat it too. Unless you want to! I love doing this with fruits with the least amount of seeds.

Get started with one of these!

Introduce Lotions, Butters and Creams

Our skin is the last place to receive water when we ingest it. So, we need to be prepared. Lotions, butters and creams! Make sure to have different moisturizing agents for the weather changes. It always surprises me how often I notice a difference in my skin when a new season settles in. And, if you’re like me and hand washing dishes. Please make sure to incorporate some hand lotion into your day.

Like I’m always saying, make something of those moments. Make sure to have fragrances you love. Or no fragrance at all if you prefer it. Keep them somewhere you can see them. Even make them their own space. Then you’ll for sure remember to use them!

Another Opportunity for Quality Me Time

Soft skin has to be one of the best feelings in the world. As an added bonus, it’s another opportunity to spend quality time admiring yourself. Stealing a minute or two to massage in some lotion counts. It tells your subconscious that taking care of yourself is the standard. Not the exception.

The Golden Rule: Wear Gloves While Cleaning

Whenever possible, wear gloves while cleaning! Make them cute and have more than one pair! I’ve made the mistake before of only buying one quality pair at a time and my hands surely paid the price. Take the extra minute to find and put on gloves. Your hands will thank you!

In a pinch, disposable gloves are great. Although they will cost a bit more in the long run. I suggest investing in a multipack of rubber gloves in a fun color or pattern! I’m actually think of trying the extra long ones at that. Because nothing feels worse than dirty water running down your arm when cleaning! Blessed be the cleaning gloves!

Extra Love for the Heels of Your Feet

The heels of the feet are really often the most neglected when it comes to hydration or moisture. Feet in general tend to get neglected when trying to put consistent beauty routines together. Buttery soft feet raise confidence in a way you would not imagine. Once a week, incorporate a foot mask. Thick socks and a heavy butter also work as a mask!

That fuzzy sock feeling in the cold weather is always 10/10/10

The Number 1 Reason to Buy a Foot Bath

One of the best investments I’ve made in recent memory is buying a foot bath. One that bubbles and keeps the water warm. Hands down it has been fanciful! A good opportunity to slow down and really focus my attention on one thing aside from my feet while soaking. It’s a surprisingly good way to make yourself feel loved. I also invested in towels just for my foot baths which are super fluffy and complete the foot spa day experience.

Go to Tool for Smooth Heels

You also can’t go wrong with investing in a foot file. Nothing too harsh! But having one to live in your bathroom will help keep your feet smooth and supple. Also when lotioning the feet overall, the best results come with socks. Foot lotion can usually be a thick cream all year round if it’s applied a few nights out of the week.

With your foot file, there are two options. Disposable cheaper foot files that usually have a sticker of some sort you can peel off. Or hardier plastic tools with stones attached that are antibacterial and only need to be disinfected after each use.

Exfoliate with a dedicated tool and foot bath once a week. If life is harder on your feet, top up. Have a tool in the bathroom to use daily as a preventative measure.
