fashion2fashun season 2 | sincerely, yoli - Issue #1

I promise you, there's a miscommunication between you and your body. And I'm gonna mediate.

Body Types??

I, like most people have a youtube rabbit hole situation that happens every once in a while. This time in particular, I was determined to figure out my body type. I dabbled for a while and found myself to be a "romantic" body type.

This is by the Kibbe scale. The beautiful thing about this is that it throws away the idea that you have to make it your life's mission to turn your body into something that you're not.

A quick guide:

Dramatic - tall, sharp angles, and overall long limbs.

(affirmation: I am a supermodel defined by my unique features)

Natural - elongated, broad but softer than a dramatic in your limbs and angles.

(affirmation: my body is acceptable and there is beauty in strength)

Classic - the middle between completely soft features and dramatic ones.

(affirmation: my body is not just "okay" because I make it special)

Romantic - usually short, very soft angles and overall short limbs.

(affirmation: my soft curves keep me warm and I love my body)

Got me thinking:

The way we approach how we see ourselves is archaic. The good news is, this is not our fault and it is directly in our control. Society is set on telling us that our bodies must fit under a label in a set hierarchy. Not something we identify with but something that hovers quietly above our heads our whole life.

If you need permission, to break the mold, to do something different with your style. Here it is. And I know you're going to look amazing!!

What I've been doing:

I've actually been wearing all my clothes? It sounds strange but my type A personality usually wards away feelings of wanting to put something on that I haven't in a while. Lately, I've been pushing myself to really play with my closet and what I have available. I encourage you to do the same and tell me about it! I'm all about the emotional support buddy system we have going! :)

Truly love to see it:
