📝Beauty and the Eye of the Beholder - #3

The spookiest thing this month is how fast it went by! Cheers to a beautiful incoming November!

Your brand of cute/pretty/etc:

This is going to take you a while to figure out. To take all that influence that has seeped into you and sort it. There's something so unique about you.

Something that is bright, vibrant and worthy. Have patience with yourself. You deserve to feel happy about who you are.

What you're wearing and what your hair looks like? The sole purpose to that is compliment everything you already have going on.

I believe in you.

Be gentle with yourself.

Attacking your hair (with love):

The problem isn't your hair. The problem is your mindset on it. Your hair is beautiful. It comes from a beautiful mind protected by a beautiful scalp.

You need to do the dirty work. You need to use some elbow grease.

Get out of your comfort zone. Look up inspiration and take time to practice. To prepare. Give yourself the best chance to feel good about your hair.

Maybe that means time. An extra hour in the morning at first. Maybe, you could get it down to 20 minutes. Maybe not. But you'll know that you tried.

ESPECIALLY things that you've been telling yourself you could never pull off.

This Week's Favs:

I am under the complete impression that Mekita poses an underrated point.

This unlined the idea that who you surround yourself with, matters. Please stop making excuses for people who don't care about you.

Dune:

watching Dune this week was something that really took me to a new level of escape and wonder. It brought to life a new concepts in familiar ways. Even far off places succumb to the power of fear. Taking it upon themselves to use greed as a defense for having to face things that are different.

Got me thinking:

So much of our time is spent wondering and pining over things that aren't in our control. While releasing the things we can to things and people we ultimately deem as bigger than ourselves.

In that sense, we exchange our power for the chance at a false sense of security. It gives us the excuses we tell ourselves too often.

This isn't to say that we have to be cold turkeys and relentless on our shortcomings. The gentle and reassuring is what makes us strong.

Compassion isn't and shouldn't be the end all be all. But it should be our first attempt.
